A set of 3 “Yellow Band” bassoon reeds.
My “Yellow Band” reeds are designed for players wanting to save money and/or young students.
They are playable, but include imperfections such as:
-a brighter sound than usual
-a crack that goes slightly further into the blade than is saleable but has no/minimal impact on playing
-small leaks near the first wire
-an unstable 1st finger E
-and the odd perfectly good reed, if I have made too many reeds and forgotten to label them properly!
Etc.
I have tried to be very generous in terms of value for money, and have checked each batch of 3 to ensure that this is a fair offer. A lot of these are good reeds, but have a small annoying flaw making them unsaleable.
I do usually advise practising on good reeds, but in certain situations these can perhaps be helpful, e.g. for anyone trying to save money or for young students who may seem to go through reeds on an hourly basis!
NB a limited number of packs will be available until they have sold out. I will keep restocking them occasionally when I have more imperfect reeds to sell- do send me an email if you would like to know when the next batches will likely be released. I only release these packs in small numbers to avoid undercutting other reed makers, and myself!
