A set of 3 “Yellow Band” bassoon reeds.
My “Yellow Band” reeds are IMPERFECT reeds which basically play ok, but are not quite good enough to sell full price.
Examples of imperfections:
-small(ish) leaks due to a splinter near the first wire
-a buzzier sound than usual
-a reed that is too narrow
-a crack that goes slightly further into the blade than usual
-a slightly less stable one finger E than usual
-a reed that I have decided is to soft or stuffy
-if I have made too many reeds and forgotten to label them properly!
Etc.
I have tried to be generous in terms of value for money, and have checked each batch of 3 to ensure that this is a fair offer. A lot of these are good reeds, but have a small annoying flaw making them unsaleable!
I do usually advise practising on good reeds, but in certain situations these can perhaps be helpful, e.g. for anyone trying to save a bit of money or for young students who may seem to go through reeds on an hourly basis!
NB a limited number of packs will be available until they have sold out. I will keep restocking as and when I have more imperfect reeds to sell (do send me an email if you would like to know when the next batches will likely be released).
